Quick Tip: Product Categories & Adjacencies

Before you can begin merchandising you need to be aware of what product categories you have purchased. You can attract many new customers into your store, but if when it is a mishmash of merchandising that takes too long to figure out…you will lose them. That is where Product Categories and Adjacencies come into play.

Sometimes product is organized by end use, other times it is by Brand, and sometimes it is both.

Adjacencies are really a question of how you move through different category areas within the store in a manner that makes sense to the customer. An overwhelmed shopper never becomes a customer.  They just leave!
